Wherever Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, is; and wherever Arjuna, the wielder of the bow, is; there is prosperity, victory, happiness, and a firm policy; this is my conviction.

Deep Meaning · English

In this profound declaration, Krishna addresses the central paradox of the Divine: the tension between His universal impartiality and His intimate personal love for the devotee. By stating that He is equal to all, Krishna asserts His nature as the Brahman, the unchanging, unbiased ground of all existence. In the absolute sense, God does not play favorites, as He resides equally as the indwelling Atman in every heart, irrespective of a being's external actions or status. The concept of 'love' or 'hatred' is a manifestation of the jiva's limited ego, not the Infinite Source. However, the second half of the verse shifts the lens from the absolute to the experiential realm of Bhakti. While the sun shines equally upon all, the one who opens their window receives the light. Similarly, while Krishna's grace is omnipresent, the act of 'bhajanti' (worship through love) acts as a conduit that makes the devotee's heart a mirror for the Divine. When a devotee worships with love, they consciously align their will with the Divine, creating a state of communion where the distinction between the 'worshipper' and the 'Worshipped' dissolves. This is not favoritism, but the natural law of spiritual resonance: he who anchors his consciousness in the Divine finds that the Divine has always been anchored in him.

Divine grace is an omnipresent ocean that reflects fully only in the heart purified by the mirror of devotion.
