Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna reveals Himself not merely as an external Creator, but as the underlying substratum of existence itself. By declaring that He is the beginning, middle, and end of all creations, He invites Arjuna to perceive the Divine in the temporal flow of time and matter. This is the essence of Vedantic non-dualism: the effect is not separate from the cause; the unfolding of the universe is simply the manifestation of the Divine essence taking on form and then returning to the formless. It is a call to move beyond the superficial observation of objects and recognize the 'I' that sustains every moment of their existence. Furthermore, by identifying Himself as 'Adhyatma-vidya' (the science of the Self) and 'Vada' (truth-seeking dialectic), Krishna clarifies that God is the highest knowledge and the ultimate objective of all intellectual inquiry. While mundane knowledge provides utility, spiritual knowledge provides liberation. He acts as the guiding logic within the seeker's mind, showing that true wisdom is not just the accumulation of facts, but the process of discerning the Eternal amidst the transitory.
Krishna is the ontological foundation of all that exists and the intellectual capacity by which we come to realize that very truth.
