यत्र योगेश्वरः कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः। तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिर्ध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम।।18.78।

Wherever Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, is; and wherever Arjuna, the wielder of the bow, is; there is prosperity, victory, happiness, and a firm policy; this is my conviction.

Deep Meaning · English

In this pivotal moment of the Vishvarupa-darshana, Krishna reveals Himself not merely as the charioteer of Arjuna, but as 'Kala'—the inexorable, all-consuming flow of Time. This is not a description of a vengeful deity, but a profound ontological revelation: existence, manifestation, and dissolution are all internal movements of the Divine. By identifying as the force that brings worlds to their end, Krishna lifts Arjuna's vision from the limited battlefield of Kurukshetra to the cosmic scale, where birth and death are but rhythmic pulses of the Supreme Being. The assertion that these warriors are already destroyed by the divine will acts as a psychological liberation for Arjuna; it dissolves the heavy burden of doership, helping him realize that the tragedy of war is a necessary transition within the cosmic order. The deeper essence here is 'Nishkama Karma'—the realization that the outcome is already held in the hands of the Divine, and our role is simply to be the instrument of its manifestation. This verse invites the seeker to detach from the fear of change and recognize that the destruction of form is essential for the continuity of the Whole.

Surrender to the Divine involves acknowledging that the movement of time and the dissolution of worldly forms are divine acts, freeing the soul from the crushing weight of personal ego and the illusion of independent control.
