Arjuna said, "It is fitting, O Krishna, that the world delights and rejoices in Your praise; demons fly in fear in all directions and the hosts of the perfected ones bow to You."
Deep Meaning · English
In this profound moment, Arjuna transitions from a state of paralyzed confusion to one of awe-inspired recognition. By addressing Krishna as Hrishikesha (the Lord of the senses), Arjuna acknowledges that the very faculties he used to perceive the world—his eyes, his intellect, and his emotions—are under the sovereignty of the Divine. The universe’s dual reaction—joy among the righteous and terror among the malevolent—is not a sign of God’s partiality, but a reflection of how the Absolute Reality manifests to different states of consciousness. To the pure of heart, the manifestation of Truth is a source of infinite delight and attraction, while to the ego-bound, who seek to hoard power or indulge in ego-driven destruction (the 'rakshasas' within), the unveiling of this supreme, uncompromising Truth is a force that shatters their illusions and demands their retreat. This is the natural order of existence (sthane): that Truth, when revealed, restores balance by elevating the seekers and dismantling the false constructs of the wicked. Arjuna is witnessing the cosmic law where the Divine presence acts as a magnet for love and a fire for ego, perfectly illustrating the inherent gravity of God toward the sincere soul. The bowing of the Siddhas, the perfected ones, further confirms that even those who have reached the pinnacle of spiritual evolution find their highest fulfillment in surrendering to the Source of all being, proving that devotion is not the beginning of the path, but its glorious culmination.
The revelation of the Divine is an objective, universal reality that simultaneously draws the virtuous into eternal bliss and compels the ego-driven to flee before the inescapable light of Truth.
