Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna reveals Himself not merely as a distant God, but as the immanent life-force sustaining the entire cosmic ecology. By describing His entry into the earth ('gam avishya'), He explains that the physical world is not inert matter but a vessel charged with His divine vitality ('ojasa'). Just as a soul sustains a body, Krishna sustains the multiplicity of living beings, showing that existence is a continuous act of divine preservation. He identifies as the force that holds the planet in its orbit and provides the coherence necessary for life to manifest in physical form. Furthermore, Krishna manifests as the moon to nourish the botanical world, specifically mentioning 'soma' or the nectar of life. This poetic imagery highlights the delicate, nurturing aspect of the Divine. By supplying 'rasa' (essence/juice) to plants, He demonstrates that the food we consume and the sustenance that allows our bodies to function are essentially offerings from the Supreme. This transforms the act of survival into a sacred communion, where every breath and every morsel of food becomes a reminder of the unseen, nurturing Presence that binds the macrocosm of the universe to the microcosm of our own physical selves.
The Divine is the silent, pervasive life-force that sustains the physical world and transforms simple nutrients into the nectar of life, revealing that all existence is a manifestation of His nourishing grace.
