Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Krishna reveals the fundamental ontological status of the Supreme. He is not merely a distant Creator but the very source (prabhava) and the dynamic substrate (pravartate) of all manifestation. When Krishna states that everything proceeds from Him, He is articulating the Advaitic truth that Brahman is the material and efficient cause of the universe—the gold behind the ornaments, the ocean behind the waves. This realization dissolves the illusion of a separate, independent world, grounding the seeker in the omnipresence of the Divine. The 'wise' (budhah) mentioned here are those who have moved beyond intellectual theorizing into the realm of 'bhava-samanvitah'—a state where the heart is saturated with divine emotion. This is the synthesis of Jñana (knowledge) and Bhakti (devotion). Realizing that Krishna is the source of all leads to an inevitable inward turn; if all things proceed from Him, then everything we encounter is a manifestation of His grace. Worship, therefore, is not a ritualistic act performed in isolation but a continuous state of remembrance and adoration in which the seeker sees the source in every object and event.
True wisdom is the realization that the Divine is both the source and the substance of all existence, transforming every act of life into an act of worship.
