Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Arjuna shifts from a state of questioning to one of profound confirmation. By invoking the names of legendary seers like Narada, Asita, Devala, and Vyasa, Arjuna is establishing the objective authority behind Krishna’s status as the Supreme Being. He is not merely relying on his own intuition or personal affection for his friend; he is grounding his faith in the lineage of realized masters who have walked the path of realization before him. This signifies the importance of 'Satsang' and the acceptance of scriptural authority, proving that Krishna's divinity is an established truth recognized by the highest intellects of the Vedic tradition. By including Krishna’s own declaration in this list, Arjuna bridges the gap between the internal revelation (what Krishna says) and the external validation (what the sages declare), creating a seamless tapestry of truth. This is the moment where Arjuna transitions from seeing Krishna as a relative to recognizing Him as the cosmic source of all manifestations. It reflects the seeker’s journey: first hearing the truth, then verifying it through the wisdom of sages, and finally anchoring it in one’s own direct experience through the Lord’s grace. It serves to humble the ego, as Arjuna acknowledges that his own realization is in harmony with the eternal lineage of those who have attained the Absolute.
True spiritual realization flourishes when personal devotion is anchored in the collective wisdom of the enlightened tradition and the direct grace of the Lord.
