Wherever Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, is; and wherever Arjuna, the wielder of the bow, is; there is prosperity, victory, happiness, and a firm policy; this is my conviction.

Deep Meaning · English

In this vision, Arjuna witnesses the terrifying aspect of the Divine—the Kaala-Swarupa or Time-as-the-Devourer. Krishna reveals that the battlefield of Kurukshetra is not merely a human conflict but a grand manifestation of the universal cosmic order where destruction is as vital as creation. By seeing the warriors, including those he loves like Bhishma and Drona, entering Krishna’s flaming mouths, Arjuna realizes that their fate is already sealed by the inexorable flow of time. The egoistic pursuit of 'I' and 'mine' is shattered here, as Arjuna confronts the truth that all names and forms eventually dissolve back into the Source. This is not a vision of cruelty, but one of radical impartiality; the Divine accepts all beings into itself, regardless of their earthly allegiances. It serves to detach Arjuna from the paralyzing fear of 'killing' his teachers and relatives, shifting his perspective from that of a mortal actor to that of a witness to the divine Will. The crushing of heads between teeth represents the complete pulverization of the individual ego, which must be destroyed for the soul to transcend the cycle of birth and death.

The vision of the Cosmic Form reveals that God is not only the compassionate protector but also the inevitable force of Time that consumes all transient forms to restore the balance of Dharma.
