Deep Meaning · English
In this verse, Bhagavan Krishna reveals His role as the primal progenitor of all cognitive and physical existence. By declaring that the seven great sages (Saptarishis) and the four original Manus were born from His own mind, Krishna shifts the paradigm from a remote creator to an immanent source. These beings are not merely historical figures; they are the fundamental archetypes of wisdom and governance, representing the intellect and the law upon which the universe functions. When Krishna states they were born from His 'mind' (manasah), He implies that the entire cosmic order is a projection of His divine consciousness—a divine thought manifesting as the blueprint for all living entities. This insight is essential for Arjuna, as it dismantles the illusion of a fragmented creation. By tracing the lineage of all humanity back through these celestial architects to the Lord Himself, Krishna affirms that every soul is essentially divine in its origin. It establishes a profound ontological connection: because the source of all existence is the Divine Will, there is no place in the cosmos where the presence of the Infinite is absent. To recognize this is to begin the journey of seeing the Divine in all things, which is the foundational experience of both Jnana (knowledge) and Bhakti (devotion).
The entire manifest universe is a direct extension of the Divine consciousness, with all life descending from the primal archetypes projected by the Lord’s own mind.
